Facilities

The school is well equipped with facilities that assist in providing excellence in educational programs.

Indra Jawahar Library:

  The school has developed a functional library that helps students in self learning. The library consists of selected reading materials that encourage creative learning. This library is named as “Indra Jawahar Library”. I.J. Pioneer has a well spacious and equipped library to satisfy the educational need of the students. As it’s an essential part of education, we encourage our students to read beyond horizon so that they can be amid readers. Latest reference books have been managed and will be continuously done as per the need as well as trend of market. We believe that each student, every day has to learn something new so that he/she can be updated. Group library talk is initiated which increases the confidence of students in extra activities. Different international journals and magazines can be enjoyed during breaks.

Computer Training:

The school offers computer course from grade IV onwards. The school is increasing the number of computers to facilitate the teachers and provide adequate computer time for each student.  

Science laboratory:

The school believes that practical knowledge should go along with theory. The concept of science becomes clear with the help of practical information. The children are encouraged to apply their scientific understanding in the laboratory.  

Infirmary:

The school maintains an infirmary which is used by the students when they are sick. The school provides first aid and needy medicines under the prescription of nurse and inform about it to the parents.

Cafeteria

This School has managed a good cafeteria where students can serve themselves as per their interest. Healthy and reasonable priced foodstuffs, wide range of snacks, beverages are managed in it. We are more concerned towards our students’ health. Tiffin boxes are occasionally inspected by the teachers who are given responsibility to oversee the Tiffin till Grade 8.  

Co- curricular Activities:

To achieve mental, moral and physical development of students, the school has provided a large variety of co-curricular activities.

Sports and ECA

The Founding Management Committee has a strong sense and belief towards sports which believes that it is Sports and Yoga that keeps the students physically and mentally fit. Every last Friday, we take our students to participate on Futsal and every Friday, we allow them for games in School like Basketball, Football, Badminton etc. Every year, we make our students participate in Inter- School Football Tournament. Apart from this, we make our students participate in swimming too.

Dance and Singing

Varieties of Nepali folk and modern dance and singing classes will be conducted to teach the students about its techniques and the way to perform in the presence of concerned teachers.

Public Speech

Public speech is done daily in order to remove stage fright and develop confidence in students which encourages them to speak in the assembly as well as various competitions.

Karate

Every Friday, Karate classes are organized to teach self-discipline and defense.

Educational Tour

Besides regular study, we take up our students in various parts of the country to have a proper understanding of culture, history which enlarges the horizon of mind. Under the motto of seeing is learning, with proper care, they are made to visit multiple places. It refreshes their mind as well.

Audio – Visual/Yoga

The school implements Audio – Visual teaching methodology as a part of enriched educational program.

The School provides transportation facilities to the students from different location of Kathmandu valley. Parents should mention whether or not they would like to use the school transport at the time of admission. The following rules should strictly be followed by those who use school transport.

  • Children should be escorted up to the specified bus stop and should be handed over to the bus stop. The companion should come to the bus station to pick the students after the school hours. If the school staff does not see the acquaintance, the child will be taken back to the school and the concerned parents will have to pick up the child from the school.
  • The attendant should always carry the student’s identity card. This card is required to use the bus and receive the child after school hours.
  • The parents should introduce the escort to the school staff in the beginning of the school session and should notify the school in case of change of escort.
  • The transport charge depends on the child pick up distance from the school and the parents will be notified of the cost in the beginning of the session.
  • An escort should take the child up to the school gate every day and pick him/her up from the school after the school hours. This rule will be applicable for the walking students.

The facility of day boarder has been provided to the students of classes 1 to 10. I.J. has a large number of children coming from houses where both the parents are involved in services and therefore cannot spare much time to help their children right after school. For helping such parents, we have arranged this facility to the needy students. It is compulsory for the students of classes 8/9/10.

Such students are abide by the following rules:

    1. The students must reach school at 7.00 am.
    2. After 2 hours of guided study, children will have lunch at 9.00 am.
    3. They will be given tea and snacks at 3.30 pm.
    4. Guided study starts from 4.00pm till 6.00pm and students can return home.
    5. No special bus facilities shall be provided for the boarders to pick up and drop.
